WONDERRIDE DRAW Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (the ‘Terms and Conditions’) apply to the Global Village - Dubai LLC (‘We’, ‘Our’, ‘Us’ or ‘GV’) Wonder Ride Challenge Draw (“Draw”).

The Draw shall run for a term starting from and including 8^th March 2023 and ending on 20^th March 2023 (the ‘Competition Period’).

1.ELIGIBILITY

1.1 The Draw shall be open to individuals who, during the Competition Period:

(a) are eighteen (18) years of age or older;

(b) have successfully completed a Wonder Ride Challenge (as defined below) as a visitor (“Guest”) to Global Village; and

(c)   have downloaded the Global Village App

 

1.2 The following individuals are NOT eligible to participate in the Draw:

(a)   Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives (including their family members) of Dubai Holding (which shall include all of its verticals and subsidiaries);

(b) Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of any government department, advertising, promotional, public relations, legal or other professional agency or firm providing services/advice directly to GV in relation to the Draw and related matters; or

(c)   Global Village ID card holders and/or employees of GV, investors or partners.

 

2.AGREEMENT TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2.1  By entering into the Draw, participants:

(a)  confirm that they have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions;

(b)  agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Terms and Conditions and any amendments to them;

(c)  represent and warrant that they meet the eligibility requirements; and

(d)  will accept the decisions of GV, as they relate to the Draw, as final and binding.

 

3.COMPETITION

3.1 Entry Times

3.1.1 Entries to the Draw will be accepted from 04:01 PM on 8^th March 2023 (‘Start Date’) and ending at 02:00AM on 20^th March 2023 (‘End Date’). No entries will be accepted after that time.

 

3.2 How to Enter

3.2.1 In order to enter the Draw, participants must purchase a Global Village Entry Ticket, either online or at the gate and follow the following steps:

a. Guests must find the Wonder Rides taxis in Global Village and successfully complete the backseat challenge (“Wonder Ride Challenge”). Each taxi has a different timed challenge which needs to be completed successfully by the Guest within the time limit. The decision of whether the challenge is successfully completed by the Guest is at the sole discretion of the designated Wonder Ride Challenge host/hostess who will be present during the challenge (“Host”). 

b. Once a Guest has completed the Wonder Rides Challenge successfully, the Host  will allow the Guest to scan a QR code and the Guest must then complete the online form with its contact details in order to enter the Draw (“Entry”). Guests must have the Global Village app to access this form and incomplete online forms will be considered null and void.

3.2.3   The same Guest can complete one (1) Wonder Ride Challenge per taxi and each successful challenge will allow the Guest to complete the online form and get one Entry. 

3.2.4  All Guests participating in the Wonder Ride Challenge hereby acknowledge and expressly consent to be photographed, recorded and or videotaped by GV and/or its representatives in connection with the Draw (“Footage”) and  grant GV and its affiliated companies the right to use edit, exhibit , publish and make use of any and all Footage and publish their name and Footage in all  media

3.2.5  Any violation of the Terms and Conditions (determined by GV in its sole and absolute discretion) may result in the disqualification of the participant and the revocation of any Prize and/or any other privileges awarded to a Winner in relation to the Draw.

3.3  The Draw Winner

3.3.1  The winner of the Draw shall be selected at random from the Entries by a computer-generated randomizer on 22^nd March 2023 (the ‘Winner’).

3.3.2  GV shall announce the Winner on 22^nd March 2023.

3.3.3  The Winner will be notified directly on the contact details provided in the Entry. After receiving the winning notification, the Winner must confirm their contact details via email within seven (7) days of being contacted by GV.

3.3.4  Non-winners will not be notified.

3.4 The Prize

3.4.1   The Winner will receive AED27,000 (the ‘Prize’) in the form of cash or cheque at the sole discretion of GV .

3.4.2 The Winner is responsible for the collection the Prize which will be available for collection on or before April 19 2023 and must be collected by no later than 29^th April 2023 (unless a later date is determined by GV at its sole discretion).. The Winner must agree with GV in advance a time and date for collection prior of the Prize.

3.4.3 Once the Prize is delivered by GV to the Winner, GV shall not responsible for any loss or damage to the Prize.

3.4.5  The Winner acknowledges and agrees that GV and its affiliates have the right to publish and announce their full name, photos and videos through any and all media formats including but not limited to the Global Village official website, and social media accounts.

3.4.6  For the avoidance of doubt, GV is under no obligation to announce the name of the Winner.

3.4.7 The Prize will be awarded only to the Winner and if claimed in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, there shall be no (a) replacement of the Prize with another prize or item; (b) transfer or assignment of the Prize to another person, (c) combining the Prize with any other offer or promotion.

3.4.10 In the event that the Winner does not collect the Prize by 29^th April 2023, the Winner shall be considered to have forfeited the Prize and the Prize shall be handed over to the Dubai Economic Department.

3.4.11  The Winner acknowledges and agrees that he/she may be expected to take part in reasonable publicity activities and promotional events promoting Global Village.

 

4.THE INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY the participants

4.1  Entry into the Draw must be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. GV reserves the right to reject any Entry without any explanation or prior notice.

4.2  GV respects the privacy of participants and hereby undertakes that any and all information provided by participants on the form will only be used as stated in these Terms and Conditions, in accordance with applicable data protection rules and regulations and as per GV’s Data Privacy https://globalvillage.ae/en/privacy-notice and Cookies Policy https://globalvillage.ae/en/cookies-notice .

 

5.LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By entering the Draw, participants agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to release and hold harmless GV and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, litigation, claim, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) individual’s participation in the Draw and/or the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any Prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Draw; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Draw or the processing of entries.

 

6.DELIBERATE DAMAGE

6.1 Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this Draw may constitute (where applicable) a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, GV reserves the right to seek damages (including attorneys’ fees) and/or other remedies from any such person(s) responsible for the attempt to the fullest extent permitted by law and shall be reported to the relevant courts in the emirate of Dubai or in the United Arab Emirates according to the applicable laws of Dubai or the United Arab Emirates.

 

7.DISPUTES

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the emirate of Dubai and the laws of the United Arab Emirates, where applicable. The Courts of Dubai shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and decide any suit, action or proceedings, and/or to settle any disputes, which may arise out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, GV may seek injunctive or other equitable relief to protect our rights in any court of competent jurisdiction.

 

8.GENERAL

8.1 Global Village and any employees, officers and affiliates may use and disclose (to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law User’s name, city and state of residence, photograph, any oral or written statements, footage, and/or likeness for advertising, trade and/or any other purposes in any media and/or social media and/or on TV now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without further compensation, permission or notification.

8.2  GV is hereby granted an authorization and consent to conduct any and all verifications required concerning participants’ and Winner’s identity. GV reserves the right to verify participants’ eligibility at any time, including requiring photographic identification, proof of age and residency.

8.3  GV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Draw or website or violates any part these Terms and Conditions.

8.4  GV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Draw should any epidemic, pandemic, wide-spread disease or virus, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, unpredictable weather circumstances such as but not limited to heavy rainfall, storms, or floods, or other cause beyond GV’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Draw.

8.5  GV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, and/or terminate this Draw and the Terms and Conditions (or portion thereof) without any notice to the Guests, at any time and for any reason whatsoever especially if virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Draw or for any other reason.

8.6  Failure by GV to enforce any of its rights under these Terms and Conditions, at any stage, does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

8.7  Should any provisions of these Terms & Conditions become illegal or unenforceable, such illegality or unenforceability shall not affect the remainder of these Terms and Conditions to the fullest extent permitted by law, unaffected and valid. The illegal or unenforceable provisions shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provisions which best reflects GV’s intentions in a legal and enforceable manner with respect to the invalid or unenforceable provision or portion thereof.
